Project Overview
The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC, subsequently rebranded as K-Electric) underwent a major structural and operational turnaround following its privatization. To support capital restructuring and investment decisions, KESC and its lead sponsor, Abraaj Capital, commissioned a techno-commercial due diligence audit.
This audit was critical to evaluate the thermodynamic efficiency, historical asset degradation, and physical integrity of KE’s thermal power generation assets. Benchmarking fleet performance was necessary to justify subsequent plant modernization, fuel conversion programs, and lifecycle expansion investments.

- Fleet Capacity: Covers a total power generation fleet capacity of 1,842 MW.
- Asset Technology: Multi-fuel thermal generation plants operating on natural gas, heavy fuel oil (HFO), and diesel, alongside associated high-voltage transmission lines and distribution substations.
